1.     A school may submit ten (10) entries to the contest.  For each 10 stories submitted, the school is required to provide a judge.*  Stories from semester 2 may be submitted in next year’s contest.

*If a school has entries but no judge, or insufficient judges, please apprise the organizing committee.

We do not wish any student to miss the opportunity for lack of a judge. See Item 3 below.

2.  Students are asked to provide an English teacher name and email (even if that teacher will not be judging) so that we have a school contact.

3.  SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES: Schools new to the contest (i.e. did not participate in 2022-2023) may submit up to 5 stories without being required to provide a judge (although if able to, providing a judge is appreciated.)

Any school submitting between 1 and 3 stories is not required to provide a judge, but is strongly encouraged to do so.

Except for schools new to the contest, a school submitting more than 3 stories to the contest must provide a judge to help with the evaluation of entries.  However, as previously mentioned, if the judging is an impediment to students’ being able to participate, please contact the committee and we will help to fulfill that requirement.

If your school submits more than ten stories in this academic year, it must appoint one more judge for each additional batch of five stories or fewer. For example, a school that submitted 18 stories would provide three judges over the course of the 2023-2024 year.
