Since 1985, we have supported TDSB secondary students' creative writing skills through our annual short fiction contest.

Our Mission

The TCTE Short Fiction Contest seeks to support and cultivate quality creative writing from Toronto District School Board secondary students. Through the short fiction contest, we hope to engage new writers and foster literacy and creative writing skills in Grades 9 - 12. 

AWARDS

• A number of entrants and their teachers will be invited to participate in our annual Authors' Day early in May, to share their stories and talk with other writers about writing.  
• Several published Canadian Fiction Authors will be also be guests, participating in the event. 
• Refreshments will be provided. 
• A number of finalists will have their stories published in the annual contest booklet. 
• Prizes will be awarded to the authors of the winning stories.
